The First United Church of Christ Adult Choir rehearses once a week on Wednesday evenings. The group is made up of congregants from teenagers to 80 year olds and performs varying styles of music to enhance worship. The schedule currently has the Adult choir sing in service twice a month.
The Sunday School children bring music to share in worship once a month and have music time with Miss Traci during their normal Sunday school hour. The kids learn traditional Sunday school songs and this season will begin to perform some quality children’s choral literature and, on occasion, join with the Adult Choir in service.
How Sweet the Sound is a concert that the Adult Choir will produce again this year. Sunday, April 13th, 2008 at 3pm is the scheduled date. This concert is used as a fundraiser for the music ministry program at First UC of Christ. Last year’s featured artist was organist, Louis Canter. He performed amazing and beautiful things on the church’s Schantz pipe organ. Thanks to everyone who so generously supported this event last March. The music program reaped over $700.00!!! Stay tuned for more information regarding the 2008 performance.
