WomenBuild: | ![]() What, WomenBuild? One of the first projects of our re-formed women’s fellowship has been to take part in the Macomb County Habitat for Humanity’s WomenBuild. Pictured from left to right are: Sharlene Haws, Jennifer Long, Paulette Trombley, Chris Hensch and Nancy Pollock. At our most recent meeting, a new name for the group was selected: LinC (pronounced “link”) which stands for Ladies in Christ. We will also be holding a scrapbooking crop on May 14th for raise money for the house (more information to come). |
Harbor Lights Visit: | ![]() Harbor Lights Mission Visit - March 2005, Detroit, Michigan Last Sunday (March 6) a group of us gathered at the church around 7:30 in the morning. We practiced our song and then Pastor Jennifer led us in a prayer before we left. There was quite a group of us that went, uncluding Terry, Carmen, Patti, Dave, Ashlee, Ashlee's friends Ryan and Courtney, Dale, Glen, Tarah, Justin, Erin, David, Chuck, Tom, Duane, Kate, Nancy, and John. After we left we all of course had to stop at McDonalds for Glen and Dale's annual cup of coffee. While we were on our way there Terry took us on a thirty-minute "I'M LOST" trip. Once we finally found Harbor Lights also known as Acers of Hope, we were just in time for the service. The service was great. The sermon was all about being ready when God comes back to take you to heaven. Then it was finally our turn to go up and sing. Dave and Terry walked up and started to play our melody and the guys were up there singing and then the women walked up there and we all joined voices to sing our song. While we were singing everyone joined in and also started to clap their hands and dance. Once we were done we sat down and accepted out applause. The service ended and we were all invited to join the others for refreshments. Also we were all given stuffed toy puppies from the Salvation Army. This was definitely an experience and I hope we have more people to go with us next time. -Ashlee Fritchie |
